A superb memorial set within a small park in the centre of Macclesfield dedicated to the fallen in two world wars. This memorial is unique, it is the only one in the country that depicts a fallen soldier. There is also a memorial in front of the cenotaph of a post placed exactly the distance between a firing squad and the soldier that would have been executed. Sadly 6 from the Cheshire Regiment were shot at dawn. All have now been pardoned. There is parking around the cenotaph but please be aware it is now situated next two a very busy cross road.

Wonderful remembrance day service well organised with beautiful music. I cannot remember such a large turnout in all the years I have attended.
