We purchased a piano from this company and on their website they offer to buy back pianos. After our daughter left home we contacted Shacklefords via the form on their website, by telephone, by e-mail and by post. We supplied all the information requested including photographs but never once received the courtesy of a reply.They are happy to sell to you but our experience is that subsequent customer service is none existent.
Appalling customer service. I cancelled within 3 days an order placed by phone with full payment taken and prior to any delivery being arranged. Yet a full month later I am still awaiting my refund despite numerous promises during phone conversations of immediate action.Very distressing.
I had been looking to have my 1925 Steinway Model K vertical piano restored for some time when I came across Shackleford Pianos in Macclesfield. On my first visit to the showroom I was given a guided tour of the workshops by Aaron Shackleford when I was able to discuss my requirements and it became obvious that both Aaron and his team were true piano artisans and not just salespeople. Restoring a high quality piano is not a quick job so 8 months later my wonderful Steinway was duly delivered by their professional team of piano removers looking and playing so much better. Of course, there have been some minor teething problems such as sticking keys which is only to be expected but included in the price of a complete restoration are included three home visits to stabilise the tuning and to tweak any issues of regulation and voicing. Their highly experienced technician has already made his first visit when he spent a half day tuning, voicing and regulating once the piano had settled down after its move and I await with pleasures his second visit.Highly recommended and competitively priced.
Shackleford moved a baby grand piano from London to Nottingham for me. An excellent all-round service at a reasonable price. Friendly delivery drivers, very good communication between company and customer, and smooth coordination at all stages. Highly recommended!
Shackleford moved an upright piano for us. I got the piano from my father, and it was delivered by 'two men and a van'. This was a nerve-wracking experience, which took 45 minutes from van into the house. Contrast with Shackleford: The two people who came had the piano in the van in 10 minutes flat, without a moment of concern. They were incredibly professional, and we cannot recommend them highly enough.
