I had to have my wonderful 15 year old dog Barney put to sleep yesterday and I want to praise Vets Now for all they didFirst of all the kindness of the call centre staff was lovely, next talking to the nurse and the vet Stephen (he was an Irish)was so wonderful as they talked me through the possibilities and considerations and gave me time to think through what was the best action to talk for my great companion.Stephen phoned me back and kept me informed of the times he would be able to come to our house to put Barney to sleep..he seemed to go the extra mile to make this time a little less painful and was so kind...Three hours after I first rang and having had to arrange cover for the Macclesfield hospital..Stephen and a nurse called Maggie arrived at our house in Cheadle Hulme.They were respectful and friendly and you could see that they really cared about Barney and also understood just what pain I was in...Stephen explained everything, telling me what he though was going on with Barney and reassuring me that my decision was the right one for Barney..they explained what they were going to do and what would happen ..they encouraged me to stroke and speak to my lovely friend as he passed away quietly..i was sobbing and they comforted me.....it was so sad yet they made it bearable and I look back and think it might have been beautiful!!!!!!!!After Barney had died they left us alone with him for 10 minutes and it wasn't scary .it was lovely.Again when it came time for them to take him away, they did it with dignity and were so thoughtful...encouraging me to think on the happy times with Barney that I had earlier told them about.Yes, this service was expensive as it was an emergency visit and on a Sunday, however these two people went above and beyond good practice they had "heart" and I would just like to thank Stephen and Maggie from the bottom of my heart...bless you twoI would recommend this service.
Needed an emergency consult for one of my rats. The vet I saw was absolutely excellent, great with rats and very calm friendly manner. The receptionist was also very friendly and welcoming and helped put me at ease. Absolutely worth the journey and the out of hours fee, cannot rate highly enough!
The first time I have used vets now Macclesfield, I cannot praise the staff on duty enough, met us at the door then took my cat for treatment, she was treated very well, excellent staff excellent care!!!
