Stopping over the weekend 1st of feb as a group of 12 . Very impressed with the service we have received all the staff were excellent ,the evening meal was fantastic quality and really restaurant quality! Breakfast was excellent filling us up for a great walk in a beautiful area. The house is beautiful and you can imagine what it was like when it was privately owned years ago .Definitely recommend a visit !

My partner slipped in the pool changing rooms due to excess water on the smooth tiles. He hurt his back and could barely move but staff showed little concern or compassion. There was an safety sign hidden in the corner and staff admitted that they were understaffed so couldn't mop the floor frequently. Staff showed no concern about preventing this from happening again and showed no sympathy for my partner. It ruined our holiday and the lack of compassion was really quite concerning. Building and grounds were nice but would avoid in future.

This is an old hotel that has been extended a number of times over the years. The expansions have resulted in creating a maze of corridors, uneven floors and lots of stairs. The hotel bar was nicely stocked for gin lovers and had a reasonable selection of draft beers. An open fire helped set the atmosphere. The restaurant was simply, but tastefully decorated . The food on offer was reasonable in quality and price. The rooms were heated by radiators and cooled by opening the windows, so no air-con here. The bathroom had really good water pressure and the water was hot. However there was a lack of shelf space to place toiletries. The walls are a little thin, and we could hear our neighbours, doing what people often do in hotels. Overall the stay was comfortable and staff were polite, but I feel there were better priced offers in the area.

Little gem of a hotel in a picturesque setting. Made to feel very welcome by the restaurant manageress. We booked a table for my Husbands birthday after a recommendation from a friend, we weren't disappointed. The hotel has a homely feel, with fabulous log fires, felt like a country house rather than a clinical hotel. The food was excellent, in beautiful, comfortable surroundings. We will definitely return and maybe stay a night or two.

Very impressed with this hotel, staff were welcoming and friendly particularly in the restaurant. The entrance hall and open fires were stunning. We had a voucher which included cream tea, 3 course evening meal and breakfast, all the food was spectacular and good size portions. Room was good, everything worked and very clean. Highly recommended.
