Check it out! Don't think of this as a standard B&B with re-purposed rooms in a strange house. There are no shared facilities with a house owner or other guests, this is more a niche and informal mini hotel.Find Sleep Eat Repeat in Macclesfield a genuine 2 minute walk (max!) from the train station front door, on a cobbled street amongst similar Victorian cottage buildings. Sleep Eat Repeat is arranged on the first floor above a cute restaurant and barber shop.3 simply decorated double bedrooms that are very clean, good beds, bathrooms and all you will need to get a decent sleep. Room 3 is exceptionally quiet being at the back of the building.Karina is lovely with no old school "officious landlady" nonsense from a 70s sitcom and has the method down to a "T". Breakfast cooked and served in the kitchen/diner (same 1st floor) with a choice of full English, lighter avacado and egg and/or the usual cereals and fruit. All with sourdough toast (nice touch) and washed down with decent coffee if you are grumpy first thing like me!You arrange with Karina as to when and what you want to eat (via text up until late the night before) and you can glimpse the rolling green hills from the kitchen window just to add to the charm. If you are the type who likes to head off into the hills for the day and come back to civilisation (i.e. a pub!) this would be a good base to do so.Talking of which, on the doorstep are any number of pubs and bars. One of the better places to eat is the independent Rosanero Italian just 5 minutes walk away with home cooked pasta, varied menu (i.e. not just pizza) and a good wine list. Or check out the Salt Bar (ground floor same building). The local (and still acceptable alternative) to Sleep Eat Repeat is a Travel Lodge about 5 minutes walk away however, check out this place first as it is genuinely a nicer and more comfortable place to be.The only consideration might be that there is no alternative to the single flight of stairs leading up to the rooms. Other than this Sleep Eat Repeat is a very safe bet in all respects.
small beautifully run b & b
Very comfortable rooms and lovely breakfast
Pretty good. Close to town centre bars and restaurants. Nice room, if small. But lots of little touches that are appreciated. Our room had a separate private bathroom .
I think the owners here have found a hole in the market in Macclesfield town centre, in that the only options most will see are two big brands ofTravel Lodge and Premier Inn. Those who stay for business on one nighter will tell you just how soul-less those places can be. A quick squint at google maps and I found this place tucked away, in viewing distance of the station and it is a little treasure trove of a stop over place. I would describe it as a high end boutique style B+B without a big price tag. The rooms are top notch the beds comfy and its all the small touches are present you would expect at 4* upwards places. Move on to breakfast and the owner cooks for you to order (see photo) again it is exceptionally good and hasn't stood in a buffet tray for hours before you touched it. I slept, i ate and I will definitely repeat every time i need to stop over in Macclesfield. Highly recommended.
